Generation of Leaders
Community Literacy Champions
The Community Literacy Champions program is an employment opportunity for Native American high school students to gain workforce skills. This program is offered during the summer (20 hours per week for 6 weeks). Students do not have to attend Salt River Schools to participate.
Service Learning
The goal of the Service Learning program is to connect students with their Community through meaningful service projects. The program was piloted during the summer of 2019 at Salt River High School. Students achieved a lot in a short amount of time and had fun. The students also had the opportunity to meet other students from surrounding schools.
The Service Learning program is an elective class at Salt River High School (SY19-20). Students learn to generate ideas on their own. They investigate, taking action, reflect on their work, and demonstrate (and celebrate) their completed objective.
