2021 Jr. ACE Program for Grades 5-8
The Salt River Jr. ACE Program is a collaboration between Scottsdale Community College and Salt River Schools. The Salt River Jr. ACE Program engages students in grades 5-8 with college-related activities. Please join our virtual orientation event for new and returning students on Thursday, April 29, at 4 p.m.

The orientation will feature a special presentation by Cody Achin with the SRPMIC Cultural Resources Department. Achin will tell students about the importance of preserving pottery and pottery shards. Achin will lead students through an activity to mimic pottery shards and petroglyphs on broken sheets of plaster.
Supplies are needed to participate in this event. Please visit the Salt River Schools administration building (4836 N. Center St.) on
Wednesday, April 28, anytime from 3-5:30 p.m. to pick up your (free!) supplies in a convenient drive-through location—look for our signs!

Virtual Summer Program Information
The Virtual Summer Jr. ACE Program is for students who are currently in grades 5-8 (as of April 2021). You will receive directions for our virtual summer program the week before the activity begins. The programs will be recorded so you can view them later or if you miss a session.
Sessions are on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1-3 p.m. on July 6, July 8, July 13, and July 15.
Student Eligibility
- Student must be one or more of the following:
- enrolled member of SRPMIC
- live in SRPMIC
- enrolled student at Salt River Schools (SRES/ALA)
- returning Jr. ACE student or sibling

- New students must register with the SCC American Indian Program by calling 480-423-6502 or emailing [email protected].
Registration for all summer participants must be received by June 21.
