UPDATED February 20: Click here for information about the upcoming Student Transition Event, featuring Mesa Public Schools registration information for the 2020-2021 school year.
Dear Salt River Schools Stakeholders,
At the direction of the SRPMIC Tribal Council and Salt River Schools Education Board, Division leaders are moving forward with developing a student transition plan in anticipation of Salt River High School closing on June 30, 2020. You are invited to attend a special meeting to discuss this important topic, especially if you have students who will be in grades 7-12 for the 2020-2021 school year.
Education leaders will host two meetings to share details of the transition plan on Tuesday, Feb. 4, and Thursday, Feb. 6, in the SRHS Lecture Hall. Both meetings will be held from 6-7 p.m. Dinner will be served. Please note: You only need to attend one meeting. The information shared at these meetings will be exactly the same; we hope offering two meetings will allow for stakeholders to choose the one that works best for their schedule.
At these meetings, we will discuss:
It is important stakeholders know that our primary goal is to find a solution to offer a Community high school experience in some capacity next school year and beyond. However, we know at this point that SRHS as it exists today will ultimately close on June 30, and it is vital that you are empowered with the information you need to make the most informed choice possible regarding your student’s academic future.
Whatever happens, Salt River Schools, and especially the staff at SRHS, will ensure this school year ends successfully for all students, and our students and families will be fully supported with every Community and Education Division resource available.
Thank you,
Dr. Cynthia Clary
Acting Superintendent
