As the 2016/2017 school year comes to a close, Salt River Schools is looking ahead to next school year (2017/2018), when many changes will take place, including NEW school start/end times and a NEW Division-wide Academic Calendar that includes information for all sites! Check out the attachments for details.

The new start/end times will also be included with the forthcoming 2017/18 Student & Parent Handbook; we will notify families when the Handbook is available to view.

The 2017/18, 2018/19 and 2019/20 academic calendars were approved by the Education Board and made available to all school sites and the public May 1.

The new start/end times were developed after data from studies conducted nationwide was presented describing the benefits of following such schedules (see here, here and here, among many other studies). In addition, family and Community feedback indicated an overwhelming preference for different start/end times, according to surveys taken by nearly 200 school stakeholders back in late March/early April.
