Community Literacy Champions
The Community Literacy Champions program is an employment opportunity for Native American high school students to gain workforce skills. This program is offered during the summer (20 hours per week for 6 weeks). Students do not have to attend Salt River Schools to participate.
Here's an example of a LitChamp project:
Service Learning
The goal of the Service Learning program is to connect students with their Community through meaningful service projects, including working with younger students in after-school programs, cultural gardening, and Community beautification projects.
Students at the Accelerated Learning Academy may earn an elective credit with Service Learning. Students generate ideas, investigate, take action, reflect on their work, and demonstrate (and celebrate) their completed objective. |
