Read to Grow Workshops
Read to Grow is an interactive family literacy program. Literacy for All provides a variety of workshop facilitated by Diné educator and artist Deon Mitchell.

Promoting literacy through honoring Native American culture is at the heart of our Read to Grow series of workshops. Filled with literacy-enriched activities inspired by books written by Indigenous authors, the Read to Grow workshops designed to enhance children’s competency with lifelong skills in the areas of reading, writing, listening, and speaking, among other lifelong skills.

Read to Grow Literacy Workbooks
Read to Grow Literacy Workbooks are designed to engage children with interactive literacy skills.

Promoting diversity and honoring Native American culture is a key component of the Read to Grow program. Every workbook has a theme based on a specific book written and illustrated by Indigenous creators.

These workbooks invite all levels of readers to engage in hands-on activities that spark interests and develop confidence in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. These are lifelong skills everyone needs.

  • What are the ways you hold others up?
  • Make cultural connections to how sacred our hands are and what we do with them.
