FIRE DRILLS

On Friday, Oct. 17, all three of our schools (the Early Childhood Education Center, Salt River Elementary School, and the Accelerated Learning Academy) practiced evacuation (fire) drills between 9:30-10 a.m. in collaboration with the Salt River Fire Department and our Safe Schools & Security Team. Each site performed their drills as expected and without incident.

Practicing evacuation drills like this ensures students and staff know what to do in a real emergency. At Salt River Schools, we've implemented the Standard Response Protocols from the I Love U Guys Foundation, which you can learn more about here on our website. Families are welcome and encouraged to join students and staff in learning these new emergency protocols. We're happy to report that today's drills ran smoothly, and our protocols were effortlessly followed.

EMS & HOLD PROTOCOL

Additionally, this message is to inform ALA families that emergency medical services were on site today around 10:45 a.m. to assist a student; EMS left campus around 11 a.m. We are unable to disclose more information due to privacy laws. During this time, parts of the ALA campus were under our HOLD protocol to keep students in classrooms and visitors out while EMS was on site.
